NEW LIFE at the CROSSROADS INSTITUTE is designed for early adolescents (middle school youth) aged 11-14. The goal of this project is to raise their level of self esteem, help them identify healthy/unhealthy relationships, and express their feelings/emotions in a positive way. When the father is not actively involved, children become prey to unhealthy lifestyles that involve drugs/alcohol, delinquent behavior, expressing emotions in a negative manner, and sometimes early parenthood.

We believe a healthy environment can be created even when parents are not married or living in the same home. The child needs to understand that he is loved and cared for by both parents and they will work together to prepare him/her for tomorrow. Many of our inner city, high-risk youth have no vision, dreams or practical goals. We want to inspire, motivate and teach them how to set goals, encourage them to develop better reading habits and practice good social etiquette. NEW LIFE at the CROSSROADS INSTITUTE wants to stop them from becoming a statistic (incarceration, drug abuse, violence, teen parents, etc.) and remain in school and go on to pursue higher education.
NEW LIFE at the CROSSROADS INSTITUTE, INC uses an evidence-based curriculum designed in bite-sized pieces to give the student the opportunity to comprehend the information which creates a sense of accomplishment. Many at-risk students have not accomplished much in life and this method of journaling does just that. The consistent message of personal responsibility taps into their thinking that "change is possible through making better choices."
